Gruab lets you hide presents for people you love and lets them find them in a small game. Be kind, keep it legal, and remember it is a personal project offered as is.
The service
Gruab (“the service”) consists of the web portal at gruab.party, where a giver prepares presents, and the Gruab mobile app, where a recipient plays to find them. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Accounts
- Anyone who signs up becomes a giver. A giver can invite people, who become recipients. One account can be both.
- You must be at least 16 and give accurate account details. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- A giver who creates a person with a starter password must hand that password to the person directly and encourage them to change it.
Presents are promises between people, not with us
A present in Gruab is a note, a code or a date proposed by a giver. Gruab does not sell, fulfil, guarantee or mediate any present. Whether a dinner happens or a code is honoured is between the giver and the recipient.
Your content
- Names, notes, pictures, codes and brand images you upload stay yours. You give us permission to store and show them to the people the service is meant to show them to.
- Upload only what you have the right to share. No content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual, or that invades someone’s privacy.
- Pictures for presents and billboards are stored in public buckets reachable by direct link. Do not upload private documents as “presents”.
- We may remove content or accounts that break these rules.
Acceptable use
Do not try to access other people’s presents or accounts, probe or overload the service, scrape it, or use it to spam or deceive. Invites are for people who want them.
Availability and changes
Gruab is a personal project. We may change, pause or stop the service, or any feature, at any time. We will try to give notice for anything that affects your data, and you can ask for an export or deletion at any time.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that presents will be found.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gruab and its maker are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from the use or inability to use the service, or from any present or arrangement made through it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service, which today is nothing.
Termination
You can stop using Gruab at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the maker of Gruab resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute goes to the courts there unless your local consumer law says otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
